Tuition methods

I use a new and unique system called Professor Assessor. This system helps me to quickly and accurately assess current numeracy strengths for each student and to establish precise areas that require more work. The system also provides instant feedback, tracking and analysis which leaves me to focus much more time teaching mathematical fundamentals to encourage a firm understanding of the basic principals on which to build.

Personalised programmes are then tailored for each student according to their individual learning needs.

During each tutoring session, students complete individual assessment tasks on provided tablets or laptops. Following these sessions personalised worksheets are created and completed. All aspects of the new 2016 National Curriculum can be assesed in fine detail and then practised until mastery is acheived.

Where there are gaps in current student's understanding, concrete materials such as Diennes apparatus are used. These resources clearly demonstrate the fundamental building blocks of mathematics, something that is crucial to grasp before moving on to more complex work.

Recent research using this system showed standardised age scores improve by an average of 14 months over a 6 week course for two sessions per week.
